Catching and Documenting Hopes and Dreams

I’ve heard it said that we should live as if we have already died. What does that mean to you? Our perspectives change with the ebbs and flows of earthly existence. Our lives seem to wind up and tighten, then wind down and loosen as we attach to and detach from objects, labels and outcomes. My sense is that the vast majority of us live somewhere in between the tightly wound and the untethered, flowing worlds. My DREAM is to capture glimpses of perspectives of as many diverse people as my remaining time on Earth allows.

My initial journey will take my from north-central Utah to the south and east, skirting Colorado, toward New Mexico. Texas, Louisiana, Florida and Georgia will be my next projected stops as I move my way up the U.S. coastline toward New York and ultimately Maine. I then envision traveling from Maine westward, skirting Canada moving across the upper Midwest to Seattle then down through Oregon and California. The final projected leg of the journey is projected to be from San Diego back through Nevada to Utah.

Reality Check: I really don’t have an itinerary any more. I’ve been talking with and connecting with family and friends, old and new, hoping to visit with them and matching their schedules and such. It’s going to be an adventure for sure. I’m seeing that it may be a lifetime thingy, which is what we should be doing anyway, asking about and listening to hopes and dreams.

I invite you and your curious and thoughtful friends to join me as I discover, uncover, embrace and merge with the diversity represented within and along the borders of the Great Experiment that America is. Subsequent paths may lead through Europe, Asia, Latin America, Oceania, and possibly Africa.
